Flying experience
If you have always dreamt of flying, either as an aviation enthusiast, an aspiring commercial pilot or simply just for fun, I am giving you the chance to share my flying enthusiasm and inviting you to join me high in the sky. I am flying from Dunkeswell Airport near Honiton. I am not earning any money from this flying experience!!! I am flying for free!!! Money you will pay is for the company I am renting planes from !
The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site on the English Channel coast of southern England. It stretches from Exmouth in East Devon to Studland Bay in Dorset, a distance of about 96 miles, and was inscribed on the World Heritage List in mid-December 2001
I am happy to discuss your preferred flying route. If you wish to fly a long route or fly to Ireland , Gurensey, Jersey that is not a problem ! We just need to check plane availability!
I am flying 2 types of aircraft from Dunkeswell, Cessna 152 -2 seats and Cessna 172 - 4 seats
Cessna 172 is a 4 seater plane so I can take up to 3 passengers with me.
Cost of flying experience per 1 hour is £170 + £5 each person day membership pass
Your choice of destination and duration, Both two and four seater aircraft available, Hands on flying 90% of the time,
What to Expect
Before leaving for the airfield it is good to check with me again the current weather conditions, so that flight will be able to take place. If all OK then you should aim to arrive about 10-15 minutes before our booking time.
On arrival you will need to fill out a day membership form which costs £5 each person. - at this point we can decide together which route we will fly, if not decided before.
Following this, you will receive a safety briefing and an introduction to the aircraft that you will be flying, running you through the main controls, on-board systems and emergency procedures.
I should have done pre-flight inspection before your arrival but sometimes i will do pre-flight inspection of aircraft with you present. If you are interested then feel free to ask any questions about pre-flight inspection or the aircraft itself. Family and friends are welcome to join you to snap those all-important photos!
I will ensure that you are strapped in securely and once the engine is up and running I will carry out the take-off and then the flight is yours if you wish ! Under my guidance I will offer you to take controls for as much of the flight as you feel comfortable.
While we are flying, family and friends are more than welcome to stay in the clubhouse or they can visit the outdoor viewing area or have something to eat/drink in the Aviator Bar & Restaurant.
On return to the airfield I will once again take over and carry out the approach and landing. After your flight, please feel free to enjoy everything else the airfield has to offer. Enjoy some lunch in fantastic cafe/restaurant and watch all manner of aerial activities including parachuting, aerobatics and helicopter flights. Relax and unwind and enjoy your first flight - I hope, the first of many!
While flying feel free use your phone , surf internet, take selfies and you can talk to your passengers/friends on board.
